A place to slow down
The best days here rarely follow a timetable.
Breakfast comes without rushing. Walking boots stay by the door until you’re ready. The terrace catches the afternoon sun, the bistro fills with people returning from the coast, and evenings settle into good food, good company and another glass of something worth lingering over.
Whether you’ve spent the day exploring Dorset or haven’t ventured much further than the terrace, there’s no pressure to be anywhere else.
Our garden terrace
Looking out across the village with the sea just beyond, the garden terrace is where guests gather over fresh coffee in the morning, share long lunches in the sunshine, and settle in for drinks as the day winds down. It’s just as welcoming if you’re joining us for breakfast, stopping by after a walk around Lulworth Cove, or meeting friends for dinner.
A bistro that follows the seasons
Our kitchen works the same way the coastline does – changing with the seasons.
Our menus are shaped by what’s fresh, what’s local and what’s worth cooking that day. Dorset seafood, carefully sourced local produce and ingredients from nearby suppliers all play their part, but the focus is always simple: cook well, serve generously and let the local ingredients speak for themselves.
Run by people who care
The Lodge at Lulworth is independently run by our founders Edward and Daria, whose approach has always been to create the kind of places people genuinely want to return to.
They’re involved in the day-to-day life of the hotel, working alongside the team to make sure every stay feels relaxed, welcoming and thoughtfully looked after. No unnecessary fuss. Just genuine hospitality, comfortable surroundings and a team that enjoys what they do.
